Kelvin Hughes is a leading manufacturer of marine radar equipment for large vessels in commercial freight, cruise line and ferry services. Cables used in these applications are frequently exposed to hostile environments or special demands (such as trans-Euro river barges with retractable radar masts), so durability and flexibility, as well as correct technical specification, are vital.

THE SOLUTION

Elmeridge has been a major supplier of installation cables to Kelvin Hughes for many years. A variety of different specifications are provided which link the components of ships' marine radar systems. These include power, data and coaxial cables for which Elmeridge represent a single supply source. Given the criticality of the application, cost has been overridden by reliability and quality as the key success factors.

THE RESULT

The Elmeridge service has become an integral part of the secure and timely supply chain required by the Materials Manager at Kelvin Hughes.
