LITTLEMORE SCIENTIFIC ENGINEERING COMPANY

THE SITUATION

Littlemore Scientific Engineering is a long-established, specialist international supplier of engineered systems. Their previous cable supplier had been unenthusiastic, delivering cables to the wrong specification, often late - and at a high price. Now, Littlemore needed cables for a project involving the sub-sea towing of magnetometer sensors used to measure the Earth's magnetic field for such applications as oil exploration or sea-bed searching.

THE SOLUTION

As a result of a competitive tender, Elmeridge were appointed to supply non-microphonic magnetometer cables for the project. These specialist cables do not generate electrical noise that can interfere with the sensors being towed. The seven-week delivery timeframe involved an Elmeridge director developing the tailor-made cable specification on site at Littlemore before having the cables made.

THE RESULT

The non-microphonic cables were delivered on time, to specification and on budget. The Littlemore partner responsible for the magnetometer sensors project feels that Elmeridge really wanted to do business with his company. He comments, "Elmeridge made an important contribution to the overall marine system that Littlemore developed".
