ELMERIDGE CABLES SOLVE ANOTHER PROBLEM

As most of the enquiries we receive start by telephone, fax or e-mail, this one was no exception. We received a call from a company having lots of trouble with its cabling and in this particular instance the cable they were using was not right for the job, but nothing else was available. After searching the internet they found Elmeridge Cables Ltd (www.elmeridge.com). It became appearent during the first telephone call (consultation) what the diagnosis was; they needed a cable similar to cat 5e FTP.

We produced a cable that was of stranded construction for flexibility, 26 awg, so quite small too, with drain wire and foil screen Additionally we have used a bright yellow jacket of polyurethane for toughness, visibility and flexibility. This cable can also be made in a flame retardant version if required.

The cable has been produced for the Voice and Data markets in the Marine industry, which are becoming ever more demanding, with the introduction of Voice Data Systems for ships.

We have produced a prota type of this cable and have now given it a name; it will be know as Marine Cat 5 and produced by Elmeridge Cables ltd.

The benefits for using this cable are water resistance, flexibility, toughness, and high visibility.
