In a changed business environment, especially for recently
privatised industries, cable suppliers are also required to adapt. Cabling
is not the customer's core business, so they need trustworthy diagnosis
in a field where they may be afraid to make a wrong decision.
The cable purchasing market is becoming increasingly
aware that the key to successful cabling is expert diagnosis by the supplier
during the customer's engineering decision process.
In order to fill this role successfully, the cable supplier
must be qualified to act as diagnostic engineers themselves. The process
means evolving the right cable through working together and understanding
the customer's objective. This is how customers gain confidence in cable
suppliers.
If the diagnostic process is to bear fruit, then the
right cable for an application should be researched internationally if
necessary - or be tailor-made from scratch, both of which many traditional
cable suppliers cannot do. |
